| SERVING
YOU FOR MORE THAN 50 YEARS
For well over half a century the Borneo Bulletin
has held the coveted position of being the most effective mass market
medium in Negara Brunei Darussalam.
Evolving as it did from
a modest weekly news-sheet way back in 1953 , targeted at an expatriate
community in the oil towns of the Belait District, the Borneo
Bulletin is the most trusted, most influential and the
foremost print media in the Sultanate today, with a steadily growing
loyal readership.
Six years after its
inception in 1959, the founders of the Borneo Bulletin
sold the weekly newspaper of 12 pages with a mere 3,500 circulation
to the Straits Times Singapore. Later in 1985 Brunei's first publicly
listed company, QAF, took over the part of shares
of the publishing company Brunei Press, from the
Straits Times.
Five years later in
September 1990, the Borneo Bulletin was turned
into a fully-fledged daily newspaper, with QAF
acquiring full ownership. The change saw remarkable success and
growth leading to current circulations reaching 25,000 copies daily
and 30,000 copies for the Weekend edition respectively.
This newspaper remains
the main source of information for its readers, providing extensive
coverage of local, regional, national and international news.
Typically, the Borneo
Bulletin reaches out to thoughtful, discerning young upwardly
mobile men and women of Brunei - who make up the future decision
makers, entrepreneurs and those with relatively high spending power.
Not only does the newspaper
deliver information accurately and objectively upholding ethical
standards and important traditions, it also endeavours to be acutely
inventive, creative and ever-responsive to current developments
and changes.
If it is important to
you, it is important to the Borneo Bulletin. That
simply conveys the editorial priority of this newspaper in delivering
news and information.
Our highly motivated
journalists cover every beat at local, national and regional levels
providing accurate and credible content while our global coverage
is provided by some of the world's best services that include Reuters,
Associated Press (AP), Agence France Presse (AFP) Deutsche Presse-Agentur
(dpa), Xinhua, Bernama, the Guardian, Washington Post and
Los Angeles Times news services. In addition the paper
delivers up to the minute data and details of the regional stock
market reports from Singapore and Kuala Lumpur.
