A-Sha Fu-Cu's entry into the Wa Mountains

Last Saturday's contribution to this series "The Abbot of Mengka: Theocratic Buddhist Monk and Lahu Messiah" discussed the early life-or, better stated, what little is known of the early life-of A-Sha Fu-Cu or San Fo Zu, "the Third Buddha Ancestor". The purpose of that article-as also today's-is to demonstrate how Lahu millenarianism, theocratic Buddhism and revolt against imperial Chinese control are exemplified by the life of one of the last great Mahayana Buddhist leaders of the Lahu people in southwestern Yunnan.
